4 Last Minute Things to do Before Going Back to School
4 Last Minute Things to do Before Going Back to School Tutor Tips: 4 Last Minute Things to do Before Going Back to School Tutor Tips: 4 Last Minute Things to do Before Going Back to School Students of all ages are saying goodbye to their summer and heading back to school in a week or two. Some students look forward to starting a new school year while others hope for an endless summer. Either way, there are a few things students need to do ASAP if they want to be successful and have a smooth transition to the school year. 1. Complete any summer homework Regardless of age group, nearly every student will have summer homework but not every student will complete it within the next couple of weeks. Students who donât turn in their summer homework on the first day of class will discover theyâre often behind, which can become a bad trend for the entire year. Elementary school students are sure to have a reading list and a book report or two while high school students have AP (advanced placement) homework to complete prior to the first day of class. Some teachers are informal about summer homework while others hand out a quiz or exam on the first day. The concepts covered in summer assignments help students understand material that will be covered later in the year and students who donât complete their summer review wonât have a chance to do it within the first couple weeks of class, as was common in past years. 2. Sign up for fall exams Students who will be taking the SAT or ACT in September or October need to sign up for these exams right now. As soon as school starts, students can easily forget about important exam dates and find they donât have a spot in the testing room. This will be especially crucial for high school seniors who have a short time to make their final attempt at these important standardized tests. In addition to signing up for exams, students are encouraged to work or review with their test prep tutor in order to prepare for these exams before they get overwhelmed with regular coursework (READ: 5 Awesome SAT Apps). 3. Get set up on the schoolâs website and social media platforms Nearly every school has a website where students and parents can interface with teachers and some schools now have their social media platform where students and members of the PTA can connect on a more informal level. Students who sign up on these platforms after the start of school often discover they are late to the game when it comes to volunteer and extracurricular activities, which could afford them the opportunity to make new friends and receive community service credits. 4. Reconnect with your private Orange County tutor or study group Many students will have lost touch with their tutor or study group during the summer but may find they need help sooner than they think due to the new accelerated academic year. Itâs a good idea to meet with the study group at a coffee shop to discuss any courses that each member signed up for and get geared up for the rigorous academic activities that will follow within the next couple of weeks. Additionally, students should check with their tutor and find out what schedule they would like to have and how much help they think they will need as they progress through fall term (READ: 5 Ways to Make the Best Out of Online Study Materials). 5. Enjoy one last relaxing week Most students will hit the ground running this year and endure more rigorous testing in the spring. As a result, itâs important for students of all grade levels to take one last breath of fresh air and enjoy the last couple weeks of summer before they commit themselves to another 10 months of academic activities. Whether a student is 5 or 15, they still need time to themselves to rest and recharge before the first day of school. Its never too early to book your private Irvine academic tutor! Definition of Crystallization in Chemistry
Definition of Crystallization in ChemistryDefinition of crystallization is a tricky thing to do in chemistry. The definition of crystallization in chemistry is not really based on the structural form, it is more about the basic chemical processes that crystallize matter.Crystallization is defined in relation to the basis chemistry; all other applications of chemistry are based on this principle. Crystallization in chemistry is simply defined as a sort of condensation, melting or freezing of some liquid. It may be liquids, solids, or gases. And more often than not, it is liquids that crystallize; water is the most common liquid that crystallizes in chemistry. The change in phase of the crystal formation, means that there are differences in the length and thickness of the layers that comprise the object being formed. In some cases, the distance between layers may be very small; in other cases, the distance may be quite large. With liquids, the contact angle between the crystallized surf ace of the liquid and the solid surface is usually very small. The long axis of this angle varies between liquids, but the short axis of the angle varies between solid and liquid. This makes the crystallization process much simpler; the chemical reaction does not require very large quantities of the raw materials. The temperature is also highly controllable, and in this respect, crystals can be formed in a wide range of temperatures. When the process of crystallization is carried out with a solid in its crystallization state, the solution forms an ice-water mixture. And the vast majority of all the reactions of crystallization in chemistry are affected by this formation. Ice can form the basis of a wide range of chemical reactions and can be used to initiate reactions that transform carbon dioxide into carbon monoxide, and so on.Although crystallization has not been used since long, it is still a very important part of most organic chemistry. In organic chemistry, crystallization is i nvolved in the formation of complex organic molecules and can be used in organic synthesis to synthesize the functional groups of the corresponding biomolecules.Crystallization in chemistry is a critical thing in nature, and the same will be true of crystallization in chemistry. It is not the fundamental process but rather one of the basic chemicals used in synthetic organic chemistry.

5 Ways to Tell if Youre a Bad Boss and What To Do Instead - Introvert Whisperer
Introvert Whisperer / 5 Ways to Tell if Youâre a Bad Boss and What To Do Instead - Introvert Whisperer 5 Ways to Tell if Youâre a Bad Boss and What To Do Instead If you are managing people, you know how tough it can be. Youâre balancing the business goals and the demands of your job, along with the people youâre responsible for. You know the jokes about bad bosses and quite frankly, you havenât given any thought about whether or not that might be you. Letâs see if a quick wakeup call might compel you into caring about what kind of boss you are. Impact of being a bad boss: Lack of productivity. The biggest issue you face is keeping your employees productive. You probably never really gave it any thought. People will not only be seriously productive, but they will go the extra mile to perform when they are in a well-managed environment. Turnover. Many managers simply think turnover comes with the game. The issue is that you will also take a productivity hit every time you lose a trained employee. By the time you hire a new person and get them trained, youâre looking at 4-5 months before you can expect to start seeing good output. Time to rethink what you think about turnover. You. If youâre a bad boss you probably know it at some level. Your workers are most likely miserable and there is no way you can be impervious to that condition. The list of impact to you at both a personal and professional level is a long one. This means it doesnât pay to be a bad boss. Here are 5 ways to tell if you are one and if so, what you should do about it: Do you truly understand what managing really means? Most bad bosses arenât bad because they choose to be, they simply donât understand how to be in charge of others. Consider taking some basic managing classes and seek out a mentor who is a good model of managing. Can you detect descent, eye rolling or other signs that your employees donât think well of you? You should look for signs that there is a big chasm between you and them. Your aim is to gain mutual respect. If they donât respect you, they will leave at the first opportunity and wonât perform to their maximum potential while they are working for you. Are you paranoid about your employeeâs agenda? Some bad bosses think that the employees are out to undermine them and make them look bad. If this is you, you have a huge problem. You may need to call in a consultant to overhaul both you and your group dynamics. Do you encourage open communication and even disagreement? A sign of a bad boss is that they donât want employees to openly discuss or question their direction. People will execute better if they have a chance to fully understand by discussion and perspective. Do you think you donât need to improve? If youâve gotten to a point where you have done this long enough, you may think this is a good as it gets. Not true. Up your game, everyone will benefit. One of the biggest reasons people donât like their jobs is because of the dynamics with the boss. Make it your goal to not be in those statistics. You can be the thing that will make a difference between a good day at work or a bad one. You will benefit in the long run if you are good at managing people. A great way to becoming an inspiring leader is with my new, live training program: âLead Like You Mean Itâ Leadership Development Program. Adding Rational Numbers
Adding Rational Numbers A number of the form p / q, where p and q are integers prime to each other and q 0, is called a rational number or commensurable quantity; here q is taken as a positive integer and p may be a positive integer or negative integer or zero. For example, each of the numbers 5, 2/3, 0.32, 16 etc. is a rational number. Evidently, the number 0 (zero) is a rational number. Adding rational numbers: - Suppose there are two rational numbers a / b and c / d. Then a/ b + c/ d= (a d + b c) / b d Where b 0 and d 0 Example of adding ration numbers: - Simplify 1 / 2 + 3 / 4 Solution: - 1 / 2 + 3 / 4 = (1 * 3 + 2 * 4)/ (2 * 4) = (3 + 8) / 8 = 11 / 8 Simplify the following expression:- 1/ 5 + 2/ 15 + 3/ 10 Solution: - At first we will take the least common factor of the denominators 5, 15 and 10. L.C.M. of 5, 15 and 10 = 30 Now we will divide 30 by each denominator 5, 15 and 10 then multiply with there corresponding numerators. Like 30 / 5 = 6 and 1* 6= 6 Similarly we will proceed for the next two rational numbers. 1/ 5 + 2/ 15 + 3/ 10= (1*6 + 2* 2 + 3* 3) / 30 = (6+4+9)/30 = 19 / 30
5 Factors that Affect How Long You Should Study for the SAT
5 Factors that Affect How Long You Should Study for the SAT SAT prep looks different for everyone. Whether you plan to study on your own, take a class, or team up with a friend or SAT tutor, creating a study plan can help you study the most effectively. As a perpetually busy student, youre likely wondering how much time an SAT prep plan will take and where to begin. Here are five factors that affect how long you should study for the SAT. 1. Whether youve taken the SAT before Is this your first time taking the test, or have you taken it before? Consider how you scored previously, and where you need to improve. If this isnt your first SAT, youre likely familiar with the length and difficulty of the test; however, keep in mind that the SATs format and content will change starting in March 2016. In this sense, most SAT test-takers will be in the same boatall students will face a new exam soon. With this in mind, students should set aside several weeks to study the material, take SAT practice tests, and review more challenging concepts. Review how the SAT will change in the 2016 so that you are familiar with the new format. Also be sure to take advantage of online resources, like prep books. Conduct a search for model study plans, or videos that break down a concept or skill. 2. How many hours you can dedicate to SAT prep per week Youll want to plan your SAT prep strategically around your schedule. How heavy of a course load are you taking, and how much homework do you have per night? Do you have a part-time job or internship, and how much time do you spend in extracurricular activities? If you have a fairly jam-packed semester, consider studying for fewer hours per week over a longer length of time. If you have a lighter semester, the opposite may work; you could study for more hours per week within a shorter timeline. Dont forget to schedule time in to decompress and relax by yourself or with friends and family. Doing so can help you maintain a healthy school/life balance, so other areas of your life dont suffer as a result of test prep. [RELATED: 4 Most Challenging Questions on the New SAT] 3. The time period until the next SAT Setting your test date is a great motivator for starting test prep, and it can also help you gauge how long you have for studying. Keep this one principle in mind: Youll want to be fresh for the test. This means that test prep should be close enough to the test so that concepts are fresh in your memory, but also well in advance to avoid cramming the week or day before the test. Start your SAT prep well before the test date, and focus each week on a specific concept or subject. By the week before your exam, youll be able to do a general review over all of the content on the SAT. 4. Your learning and studying style Take into account your own learning and studying style as well. Are you easily distracted? Slower to master new skills? Do you want to incorporate real-world strategies, like reading higher-level texts to improve vocabulary and comprehension? Knowing yourself and how you best learn is a crucial part of studying successfully. If youre an auditory learner, reading over your SAT study guide for hours at a time may be a waste. If you get distracted when studying in a group, taking your SAT prep solo may be the best option. Understanding how you learn in various environments and situations is valuable to making your time spent studying much more effective. [RELATED: 3 Habits That Are Hurting Your SAT Prep] 5. Your test-taking goal(s) for the SAT At the beginning of your test prep, sit down to articulate your goals for this test. Do you have a target score or range of scores youd like to meet for a particular section? If possible, check out the average scores of students accepted at your desired colleges. Is there a specific concept or section of the SAT you want to focus on? If youve already taken the test, think about how much improvement youd like to see. Considering these goals before beginning your test prep can serve as a guide for planning the weeks and days to come. [RELATED: How is the New SAT Scored?]
